Control at your fingertips

Because the user needs a way to interact with the robot, he or she will be able to do so through a dedicated user control application. We will have a PC-based control center application as well as Android and iOS versions. User will be able to remotely control the robot from a computer, laptop, smartphone, or tablet. Additionally, we will offer both open-sourced and commercial grade firmware for modifying the robot’s AI (artificial intelligence) and software capabilities.

Customizable firmware, or out-of-the-box functionality

Each robot will include open-source firmware and customizable hardware modules, allowing hobby roboticists, professional researchers, and students to focus on application rather than low-level software and firmware integration details. Each product will come with a software toolset that will reduce the barrier of entry into video-enabled robotics. Our goal is to make difficult and complicated technical issues transparent for anyone who wants to get started with autonomous and semi-autonomous mobile video systems.

The open-source version of Robocraft firmware will offer a subset functionality of the more robust commercial firmware. The paid version of firmware will have MPEG4 and h264 video streaming, a faster video frame rate, and support for remote script execution (from user PC, no need for C/C++ or Java knowledge). The main controller comes with built-in bootloader that allows user to modify and update firmware without any special tools.
